Google says  “Roughly 1 percent of searches on Google (think: millions!) are symptom-related. But health content on the web can be difficult to navigate, and tends to lead people from mild symptoms to scary and unlikely conditions, which can cause unnecessary anxiety and stress.”

To further add to it, Google is rolling out a brand new feature known as “Symptom Search”. This can show you even more accurate search results in your iOS and android Google apps.

In the coming days, if you’ll search Google with phrases like “headache”, Google app can show you results of various similar medical conditions like “headache in one side” “headache”, “migraine”  and “cluster headache”.

Even if you merely type “headache”, you’ll get an overview of the self-treatment choices and situations when actually you need to visit a doctor.

Google curates this list of symptoms and illness descriptions on the idea of search results and comparing it with the medical info collected from eminent doctors.

You might be shocked after knowing that Google has teamed up with specialists at Harvard medical school and mayo Clinic to create a knowledge based database that’s continuously improved and updated to give better results to end users.

This update will be rolled out to your smartphone in coming days. U.S will be first to receive updates.
