Thanks to the notifications of our smartphone or tablet we can easily know when some applications, such as instant messaging clients or social networks, require our attention. However, one of the most annoying things is that while we are using the device for other tasks, such as playing, these applications start to show us messages on the screen and the device starts to ring and vibrate, causing us to lose concentration and stop enjoying Of what we were doing, for example, to play.
For a long time, iOS includes a mode called "Do Not Disturb" that allows us to silence all these messages so that nothing will bother us while we sleep or, for example, as we said, while we are playing, listening to music or watching a movie on our device.
Next, we'll see how to set this mode to help us avoid these warnings when we do not want them.
Set and enable iOS Do Not Disturb Mode
To set this mode, activate it manually and even program it to activate at certain times, all we have to do is open the iOS settings menu and look for the " Do Not Disturb " section. We click on it and we will see a series of options like the following ones.
- Manual: Allows us to activate this mode manually.
- Scheduled: Allows you to set a start time and an end time so that this mode is automatically activated in the time zone.
- Allow calls: Allows us to choose if we want some calls to interrupt us when being "urgent".
- Repeat Calls: Allows us to set whether we want a repeated call in less than three minutes to ring anyway.
- Mute: Allows us to choose whether we want this mode to always be applied or only when the device is locked.
From here, we should only activate the " Manual " option and we will see how a moon shaped icon appears next to the time. This indicates that Do Not Disturb mode is on and notifications will not disturb us.
Turn on Do Not Disturb Mode while playing
It is possible that we inadvertently entered the game and did not manually activate the do not disturb mode on iOS, risking any notification to appear at the top while playing or watching a movie on our iPhone or iPad.
Fortunately, the latest versions of iOS have a drop-down menu at the bottom with which we can quickly activate this mode without having to leave the game or the application that we are using. To do this, simply slide the screen from the bottom edge up and see how we see this new menu.
We must remember, once we finish playing, to deactivate the "Do Not Disturb" mode so that when we receive a notification, we continue to receive it without problems and do not lose, for example, a call or an important message for having told iOS, not to We wanted to be disturbed while we played a game to our favorite game.
Disable app notifications forever
Another much more radical option for this is to turn off notifications for all applications one by one. This way, instead of silencing them when we manually activate the Do Not Disturb mode, they will never appear, avoiding distractions, but without notifying us whenever we receive any notification.
To do this, we only have to go to the menu of Settings and look at the list of the application that we want to configure. We click on it and we'll see your options, including notifications.
Click on the notifications and a new screen will be opened from where we can change the type of warning that we want to show us and, if necessary, even deactivate them completely by turning off the "Allow Notifications" switch causing them to never appear again.
This way, the notifications will be completely disabled, although, we remind you, this can cause us to lose some important warning.
